It doesn’t matter if it’s your first visit to Furgether or if you’ve known Furgether for years. With this page we would like to provide the most vital information in a compact form, so that you can prepare yourself optimally for Furgether and have all information at hand at any time. Before we start, the Furgether team would like to thank you for your trust and your commitment, because only together can a convention like Furgether function from the community for the community.
Latest Update
Tuesday, Sept 10: A new day and, as announced, a new update. Unfortunately, there are no changes regarding the weather, so it can only be emphasized again that weatherproof clothing, including rain protection and weatherproof footwear, is extremely important. Here are the updates since yesterday:
- Due to the weather, the sports field cannot be used as a parking lot. Please drive onto the grounds, unload, and bring your belongings to your rooms (see room plan; https://www.furgether.at/wp-content/uploads/Rooms-FG24.pdf). After that, please come to the check-in, where you will receive information about parking. This will be partly on the grounds, possibly partly at the neighboring farm, or on parking strips along the road. Please do not park on the grounds without information from the check-in.
- If possible, form carpool groups (even if only for the last stretch). This helps us immensely to manage everything logistically despite the rainy weather.
- There are still beds available, and participants who want to switch from a tent to one of the houses should contact us in advance via the contact form (https://www.furgether.at/contact/). Please also check your spam folder for a response.
- The climbing course (for a fee) will take place. If the weather is not suitable for outdoor climbing, the climbing hall in Steyr will be available as an alternative. Please consider in advance whether you want to participate in the climbing course and inform us at check-in. This helps us immensely with planning.
- If you want to DJ during Furgether, please contact Killian (https://t.me/KilianDash) for further coordination.
- There is also a group where we spontaneously ask for help during the event. It would be great if as many people as possible who can help out unplanned join the group. Here is the link: https://t.me/+SGLPw_vCNPU0NDk0
The positive feedback yesterday has further strengthened our belief that we will have a great weekend together at Furgether. The last update before the event will follow tomorrow.
Monday, Sept 9: A longer update shortly before Furgether. Unfortunately, the weather report is very mixed, and according to the current forecast, it will be significantly colder and also rainy. Basically, we don’t want to let the weather spoil our good mood, but preparation and the right equipment are all the more important. Therefore, please note the following:
- Please bring enough weatherproof warm clothing and rain protection.
- Indoor slippers are mandatory for the indoor area (using only socks is not recommended).
- An extra cozy blanket for sleeping or chilling in the bar area is always a good idea.
- There are plenty of general rooms and rooms for activities such as board games you bring yourself.
- Due to the expected rain, the sports field cannot be used as a parking lot this year. More detailed information (arrival, unloading, check-in, parking) will follow by Wednesday at the latest (we are still coordinating with the owner).
- If there are any changes or important information from your side, please contact us via the contact form.
Let’s make the best of the weather and have a great weekend at Furgether together. Take care of each other and support each other, then nothing will stand in the way of a weekend full of good memories (despite the bad weather).
Basic setting
Before you enter the Furgether area, make sure you understand what Furgether is and how it differs from other conventions (which you may have already attended). We are in the area of a national park and parts of Furgether take place outdoors (meaning preparation is everything). Also, the program is very relaxed and being together is in the foreground. Having an enjoyable time together, supporting each other and thus experiencing a convention like no other.
Preparation
Here is some important information in list form:
- Read the event page, FAQs, and policy page thoroughly.
- In the days leading up to the event, check the local weather forecast (e.g., https://kachelmannwetter.com/at/wetter/2772833-laussa or https://www.msn.com/de-at/wetter/vorhersage/in-Laussa,Ober%C3%B6sterreich) and pack appropriate clothing. The event will take place in mid-September and it may be a bit cooler in the evenings and after hours, depending on the weather.
- Check the packing list on the event page a second time. Bedding, slippers and towels have often been forgotten in the past. The same goes for hygiene items and medications. Slippers are really important as they are the only way to enter the Main House, so don’t forget them.
- If you want to bring your own alcohol onto the premises, please note that this is not allowed (see policy page and FAQs above).
- Please join the two Telegram groups to be informed about last minute changes: 📣 Telegram Infochannel, 💬 Telegram Group Chat. If you are unsure about your preparation or have questions, post your question in the 💬 Telegram Group Chat and you will get a very timely response from a Furgether veteran.

Car

Train
Arrival by train is via Linz (long distance) and then by regional transport to Losenstein train station (nearest station, https://goo.gl/maps/3fmcR8tAUeZ1AZBG9) or recommended to Steyr train station (about 20 minutes away, better public transport, https://goo.gl/maps/rdLHZJfpp6nRJJBQ9). Please coordinate a few days before your arrival with other participants in the Furgether group on Telegram (💬 Telegram Group Chat) for the purpose of a pickup from one of the two train stations. The same principle applies to the departure.
Check-In
Before you do anything on the grounds after your arrival, please go (without luggage) to the Con-Ops office in the Main House for check-in. You will need your photo ID for verification and will receive your con badge, the NFC chip for payment at the bar and further information.
Convention
Room & Assignment
On each room door there is a list of the guests who sleep there. You can also check the current room arrangement at the following link: Rooms-FG24.pdf
Upon departure, the room must be left as it was found upon arrival. Please do not take home a blanket, pillow, or trash can. If you have any questions, please contact Christoph from the team (see below).
Helpers & duty assignment
You have already been informed in advance about your area and your time period. You can also view the information under the following link: Helferliste-FG24.pdf
There is a Telegram group again this year where helpers are dynamically and event-relatedly sought during the event. If you are interested, you can join the group via the following link: https://t.me/+SGLPw_vCNPU0NDk0
If you have any questions, please contact Hashu from the team (see below).
Breakfast & Dinner
Breakfast and dinner will be served in the Dining Hall. There is enough for everyone and you can find the times in the Timetable. Important: There will be no official dinner on Thursday, so please plan accordingly.
The dinner menu is as follows:
- Chicken Veggie and Beans Stew
- Barbecue including salads
- Indian Chicken Coconut Curry (mild) with Noodles
If you have any questions, please contact Tushky (breakfast) or Scar (dinner) from the team (see below).
Bar
The opening hours (start) of the bar will be based on the weather and interest. From 01:00 is the end and it is requested to speak in this area in normal volume, so that the participants who want to sleep, also get a few hours of restful sleep.
Payment at the bar works by credit and the Furgether Pay NFC system, which has been tried and tested for years. To avoid waste, a deposit system for cups and cans has been introduced (see next section), for which you should charge at least a minimum amount of money (specifically €2). More details are mentioned below. Any remaining credit will of course be refunded at the end of the event. You can see the drink menu here: Drinks-FG24.pdf
By the way, there is also the possibility to buy drinks in cans at the Con-Ops office. If you have any questions, please contact Kruemel from the team (see below).
In the bar area, there is also the possibility to order shishas. The menu for this will follow soon. If you have any questions regarding shishas, please contact Smoki from the team (see below).
Deposit system
Since we have noticed in recent years that very little consideration has been given to returning and cleaning up cups and cans, we have decided to introduce a deposit system. The deposit is 2 euros per cup and can (this also applies to cups used at breakfast).
When you buy a drink at the bar (in a cup or can), 2 euros will automatically be deducted from your credit and you will receive a deposit coin for each deposit container. You can also get a cup directly for 2 Euros or exchange it with a fresh cup at any time in the Con-Ops office or at the bar. The deposit will be credited back to your chip account when you return the cup or can and (!) the deposit coin. There will be a clean-up crew at regular intervals to collect abandoned cups and cans.
Danceroom, Audio & Lighting
If you have any questions or problems, please contact Mastix and Killian from the team (see below).
Panels and activities
The scheduled panels and activities can be found in the timetable (see Timetable-FG24.pdf). If you are not sure what to do at the moment, we recommend a walk between Bar & Lounge (there is a shisha bar), the Dining Hall (for e.g. board and card games you brought yourself) and Danceroom (for e.g. video games). If you have an idea yourself, it’s best to contact us in advance in the 💬 Telegram Group Chat.
If you have further questions, please contact Christoph from the team (see below).

Due to feedback from recent years, there will be an evening with a “Relaxed Dresscode” at the bar this year. This will take place on Saturday from 10 PM in the bar area (see Timetable-FG24.pdf). What does “Relaxed Dresscode” mean? Contrary to the existing rules (see event page, FAQs, and policy page), Pup Hoods, Pup Gear, Latex, Rubber, Lyra, Spandex, or Petsuits are allowed on this evening (including accessories such as harnesses). It is also permitted to be shirtless in the bar area. However, Relaxed Dress Code does not in any way imply consent or approval for (sexual) interactions, visible genitals (whether real or fake), electric shock collars, or the like. It is also noted that no pictures (cameras) are allowed during the “Relaxed Dresscode” hours.
