We understand that a convention like Furgether can be confusing at first and some of you may have questions. So here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Question: What does the helper duty mean at Furgether?
Answer: Furgether is only possible on this scale with the joint help of all participants. What started as a convention by the community for the community should live on like that. For everyone to have a great weekend, this year there is a volunteer requirement. This means that every participant must do something for a certain period to make the convention possible. The amount of time for this will be about 3 to 4 hours, communicated in advance, and will take into consideration the area of support desired.

Question: What does the helper duty mean for me as a participant?
Answer: When you registered, you specified areas where you want to help. We will try to schedule you in this area. To do this, we will contact you in advance with the necessary information (area, duties, contact person, time period in which we need your help). The amount of time will be about 3 to 4 hours.

Question: But I certainly do not know how to do some things. What happens if I am in an area that is not my cup of tea (for whatever reason)?
Answer: When you registered, you specified an area that you are absolutely not comfortable with. We will not place you in this area. If the area you have been assigned to is still a problem, please contact us as soon as you are contacted by us.

Question: I read that there is a ban on alcohol brought in. Why?
Answer: Every rule has a background. Unfortunately, there have been problems in this area in the past, which could have been absolutely avoided. This had a negative impact on the experience of other participants and also safety concerns. For this reason, it is not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages.

Question: How will you control this rule (ban on alcohol brought in)? I certainly won’t have my luggage searched.
Answer: We will not search your luggage or search you. But the whole Orga team will move around the area (e.g. security checks) and if we notice any alcohol you brought with you, this will lead to an immediate exclusion from the event. We do not do this out of boredom, but rather for legitimate reasons to ensure a safe and good experience for all participants.

Question: But I have this one special bottle that I want to drink with friends. Is there really no way?
Answer: Basically, there is a ban on bringing alcohol. Our bar offers good quality alcoholic beverages at realistic prices. If you absolutely want to bring something, please contact us to get a release / exception in advance. This must be done before the event, on site such an exception is no longer guaranteed. Question: Unfortunately I can not come, but I have already paid. Can I transfer my registration?
Anwer: This is not possible. But you can apply for a refund. Please use the contact form.

Question: I would like to organize a panel. Who do I need to contact and what support is provided?
Answer: Please contact us via the contact form. A member of the organizing team will respond to you promptly with all details. Depending on the panel, there is the possibility of financial support in addition to support with the appropriate infrastructure (rooms, electricity, …).

Question: I have registered and have not yet received an e-mail. What should I do?
Answer: It is also recommended to check the spam folder. If you are still missing the registration e-mail, you are more than welcome to contact us via the contact form to have your status checked.

Question: I have paid but did not receive any information if the payment has arrived.
Answer: Do not worry. We will send you an e-mail after changing your status in our system. Sometime this takes a few days. If you are still missing the payment confirmation e-mail, you are more than welcome to contact us via the contact form to have your status checked.

Question: Is an early departure (for example on Sunday) possible?
Answer: Yes.
